On October 15th, NSP traveling baseball hosted it's first optional fall evaluations. The weather was crisp, but the players that participated had a blast! Special thanks to Alex Alvarez and Cole Hutchens for bringing their high school players together to lead drills with the kids.
Friendly reminder, all evaluative data collected will carry forward into winter evaluations; if your player participated in the fall evaluation, and their number dips this winter, the fall ratings will be used. If your player participated in the fall evaluation, and their ratings improve in the winter evaluation, the fall ratings will be dropped.
Parents also asked about off season clinics in the community. Cole Hutchens runs a phenomenal baseball camp called The Diamond Boys Camp. There are other baseball clinics (Hamline is one of the first that comes to mind), which are great too, but I've experienced Cole's clinic first hand and the 1:1 personalized attention from Cole and his other coaches is great for any youth baseball enthusiast. Information about Hutch's camp is attached to this message.
Some families have asked about coaches. Identifying coaches is an important process to growing our program. Please contact Stacy Maher at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. The program is working on identifying interested people in coaching at the following age levels: 10U, 11U, 13U, 14U. Once all coaches have been named, the program will make a formal announcement.
Also, thank you to Michelle Stark for helping with the registration table at fall evaluations!
To offset program costs, we are working on organizing a winter fundraiser along with some other deals in the works. If you're interested in joining the conversation, a board meeting will be scheduled in November. The board will also discuss next steps for registration, and discuss the team selection process. The agenda, and minutes will be shared in this group to keep everyone in the know. The program will also work on regular updates through Facebook, as well as its nspbaseball.org site (apologies in advance if you regularly follow all three, but also kudos for staying in the know!).
As always, contact Stacy Maher with questions at email@example.com with any questions, comments, or kudos.
The rec program needs a volunteer to be the commissioner. It's an exciting opportunity to be involved in your community. Without a volunteer, there will not be rec baseball in North St. Paul. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
